Ashley Heeren, NCC, LPC
Therapist - Life Balance Counseling Peoria, PLLC
Ashley’s passion for this field is rooted in both my professional training and her personal life experiences. She graduated from Bradley with a Masters in Counseling and worked in the Addiction Recovery Center, gaining experience in providing comprehensive evaluations of addiction.
Beyond her credentials, Ashley is also mother to two wonderful children, one on the spectrum and the other who has cystic fibrosis. These experiences has given her a deep, firsthand understanding of the family journey—from the initial steps of diagnosis and finding the right resources to navigating school systems, social interactions, and the day-to-day realities of life with an autistic family member. This personal connection allows her to approach her clients and their families with not just clinical knowledge, but genuine empathy and practical insight. Ashley understand the "triumphs and heartbreaks" you may face and is here to help you find joy and celebrate every accomplishment, big or small.
If you're seeking a therapist who truly "gets it" and can blend professional expertise with a lived understanding of the autistic experience or having a child with a chronic illness, I invite you to connect with me.

Has the loss of a loved one or a recent devastating medical diagnosis left you alone, empty, and disconnected from those around you? Are you questioning everything and do not know what to do next? Are you a parent whose child has received a neuro-developmental diagnosis, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and you need to learn the ropes of how to get your child an IEP or 504? Or have you lost yourself in the whirlwind of appointments? Need help prioritizing and setting goals? Are you a stressed adult caregiver for aging parents or grandparents and need guidance of what is next?
I can help you explore the various physical, psychological, spiritual and legal aspects that often accompany facing one of life’s most difficult challenges and/or the decisions regarding terminal or chronic illness. We can work together with exploring that IEP/504 to help your family member be the best versions of themself in an educational setting.
Do you need an empathetic listener to help you walk through a difficult journey? No one understands the disconnect, emptiness or isolate that can encompass a chronic illness until they have walked through this journey. I have done this, I can hold your hand while we take it step by step through the process of coping and living with a chronic illness.
