Rick is a Licensed Social Worker who specializes in….? As a retired Army veteran himself, Rick combines his life experience with professional training in social work, trauma treatment, and addiction recovery. He provides trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions such as motivational interviewing, problem-solving therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic methods to help clients process trauma, manage anxiety and depression, and develop resilience.

Rick desires to work closely with veterans, first responders, and individuals struggling with trauma, addiction, and PTSD. He understands If you are experiencing overwhelming memories, nightmares, flashbacks, or are coping with emotional pain through addictive behaviors. Rick provides a supportive space to begin the healing process. He understands the feelings of isolation, guilt, loss, and shame that can accompany trauma and works collaboratively with clients to help them move toward recovery.


Qualifications and Work Experience:

Rick earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California with a speciality in military populations. Prior to his realization that serving others through social work and therapy was his true professional calling, Rick served in the Army for over 20 years, including 15+ years in leadership roles, and 3+ years as a Recruiter.

Rick was born and raised in Indy. (does he want to share this?-anything about his background?) He currently resides in Dunlap with his wife, daughter, and Labrador. Tom is a family man, Christian, amateur home improver, and avid video gamer.
