Ryne Rush, Licensed Social Worker
Therapist - Life Balance Counseling Peoria, PLLC
Ryne fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning his Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky, officially becoming a Wildcat graduate. As a Licensed Social Worker, he specializes in trauma and addiction, bringing both heart and clinical expertise to every session.
Ryne combines lived experience with professional training in social work, community mental health, trauma treatment, and addiction recovery. He provides trauma-informed, evidence-based care, drawing from a range of approaches — including EMDR, Cognitive Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, and Trauma-Informed Care — to meet each client where they are. One of his favorite approaches is integrating EMDR with Schema Therapy, a combination he finds especially powerful for helping clients process trauma at its roots while reshaping the patterns it leaves behind. Through this work, he helps clients manage anxiety and depression and develop the kind of resilience that supports long-term healing and growth.
Ryne's areas of focus include trauma, including sexual trauma; personality disorders, with comprehensive treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness; Schema Therapy, addressing long-standing patterns rooted in early life experiences; attachment issues and how early relationships shape current connections; addiction and recovery; and depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. He also works with couples, helping partners rebuild trust, deepen connection, and navigate conflict together, and with athletes through sports psychology, supporting performance anxiety, mental focus, motivation, identity, and the pressures of competition.
As a Licensed Social Worker, Ryne is credentialed with most major insurance providers, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. He has immediate availability for both in-person and virtual sessions and is ready to join you on your healing journey.
